Atisha’s Refuge Prayer, Line 4

Standard

འགྲོ་ལ་ཕན་ཕྱིར་སངས་རྒྱས་འགྲུབ་པར་ཤོག།

dro la pen chir sang gye(n) drub par shog

འགྲོ་ལ་ཕན་ཕྱིར : dro la pen chir : for the benefit of beings

སངས་རྒྱས : sang gye : Buddha

འགྲུབ་པར་ཤོག། : drub par shog: may it be accomplished

Putting both lines 3 and 4 together we get:

May it be accomplished that through generosity and the other good deeds (the Perfections) may I become a Buddha for the benefit of beings.

or the usual translation:

Through the merit of generosity and the other good deeds, may I become a Buddha for the benefit of all beings
